Hello- and thanks for taking the time to stop by- this is a blog I have decided to devote to the art of poetry. My name is Matt Spence, and poetry has always been my first love when it comes to writing- but that is not to say I don’t write other things. Besides working on poetry, I also write short stories, and am working on my first novel. I am currently compiling a collection of poetry, and hope to have an ebook out in a few months time- if not before.

Also as of the beginning of this year I have started work on a documentary about a friend of who was a 21st Century railbird until he met an untimely death in New Orleans- who knows what poems I’ll find on the road shooting this documentary.

When I first started the blog I claimed I would be- “taking lumps out of my throat and with my tongue, hands and mind fashioning them into something resembling sculptures made of ashes”- and on one level that is what I am still doing on this blog, but at this point it is really more about taking time to simply be here now in love with my wife to be. Hope you enjoy the potential poetry experiments on the blog as much as I enjoy creating them. Please feel free to contact me at ktistec.machine <at>gmail<.>com (obviously you need to change a few things back there). Namaste.

Your use of visuals with your words, which I do get are lumps from your throat and tongue, raw and volatile, really affects me. THere is so much drama ere, another whole world to explore. Thanks.

No thank you for stopping by, and taking the time to leave a comment. When I first started this blog I wanted to share both my poetry and some of the pictures and art that I also am known to create. Some times a poem is inspired by the picture, and other times I’m just going through my endless pile of pictures until one clicks with the poem at hand. All the original art pieces (pencil sketches & pastel pieces) are done for the poem at hand. I am glad you enjoyed both the words and the visuals, and I hope you become a regular reader. Namaste.

Great to meet you, Matt. I like your style and think I will enjoy staying up-to-date with your poetry experiments 🙂 . I love the way you started out blogging (your ambition), that’s an inspiring idea- taking lumps of out the throat…- and I guess in some way that is what we are all hoping to do. Looking forward to reading more.
